How much is tuition?

Tuition for 2016-2017 is $10,000.

What does tuition cover?

Tuition covers the 12-week onsite class. It does not include computing equipment. Students must provide their own laptops.

Does JRS Coding School offer financial aid?

JRS Coding School does not participate in any federal or state financial aid programs. For students who wish to finance their coding school education, JRS has partnered with Climb Credit to provide financing options. More information is available here.

What equipment do students need for class? Are there requirements for the computers students use in class?

Students are required to have access to a laptop for the duration of class. The laptop should have the most recent version of operating software (Mac, Windows or Linux). While Mac laptops are not required, they are preferred, as instructors will be using Macs and may not be able to provide as much support to PCs with technical issues.

Do you offer housing?

Housing is not offered.

What courses are offered?

Currently a full-time 12-week immersive course in JavaScript development is offered.

Why JavaScript?

JavaScript has enjoyed tremendous growth over the past few years, both in its utility as a technology and its value as a skill in the job market. It is used to program everything from servers to mobile devices to microcontrollers. In their most recent 2016 reports, both GitHub and RedMonk rank JavaScript as the world’s most popular programming language. Burning Glass lists JavaScript as the web development skill with the highest demand in the job market. Interest in and demand for JavaScript skills continue to rise.

Why is there pre-admissions work to complete? Is it mandatory?

The pre-admissions work is designed to introduce students to the topics we cover during the program and to ensure a baseline level of knowledge. Completion of the work is mandatory. A pre-course workshop is held prior to the start of each class, and these workshops are designed to assist students with the required work.

Do you offer employment assistance?

JRS Coding School provides training in soft skills and in helping students communicate their technical skills. The school hosts events for area hiring managers as a way for students to practice their communication skills, showcase their projects, and make connections with potential employers.
